Get Your Stories On Consignment With Fables & Filth

What does consignment mean?

A consignment with Fables & Filth allows authors to sell their books through our platform while retaining full control over pricing, fulfillment, and earnings.

When you consign your book with us:

  • We list and promote your book on the Fables & Filth website
We invest heavily in advertising and marketing to increase the likelihood that your book will be discovered by new readers.

  • You keep control of fulfillment
We handle the sale, but you ship the book directly to the customer.

  • You get paid instantly
There’s no royalty wait, no payout threshold, and no delayed payments. Funds are sent to you immediately so you can fulfill the order right away.

Publish with Fables

Choose Your Publishing Path

Option One: Become an Official Fables Author

The Official Fables Author Program is our most selective publishing pathway. Fables accepts up to five Official Fables Authors per calendar year.

Accepted authors enter an ongoing publishing relationship with Fables. We work with them on their new and upcoming books and may also consider previously published books that the author would like to bring under Fables.

Depending on the project and publishing agreement, Fables may provide:

  • Manuscript editing

  • Proofreading

  • Cover design

  • Interior formatting

  • Ebook formatting

  • Publishing setup

  • ISBN and metadata coordination

  • Print and digital distribution

  • Product listings

  • Sales processing

  • Royalty reporting and payments

  • Author branding

  • Marketing materials

  • Release planning

  • Promotional support

  • Special-edition opportunities

  • Ongoing support for future books

Authors do not pay a subscription fee for this pathway. Fables recovers its investment through the publishing and royalty arrangement set out in the author’s individual publishing agreement.

Previously published books may be considered, but the author must have the legal right to transfer or license the necessary publishing rights to Fables.

Annual acceptance limit: Five authors

Option Two: Join as a Paid Fables Author

The Paid Fables Author Program is an ongoing publishing-support membership for authors who want Fables to manage the professional production and release of their future books.

This pathway is currently available for new and upcoming works only. Previously published books are not currently accepted through the paid program.

The membership fee contributes toward services such as:

  • Editing and proofreading

  • Cover and promotional design

  • Interior and ebook formatting

  • Publishing preparation

  • Metadata and listing setup

  • Sales processing

  • Royalty reporting

  • Marketing materials

  • Release planning

  • Ongoing publishing support

The author continues to earn royalties under the royalty structure stated in their individual agreement. Subscription payments cover publishing services and do not replace or cancel the author’s royalties.

Membership Options

Annual Membership: USD $1,800 per year

Monthly Membership: USD $200 per month

For authors on the monthly plan, the USD $200 subscription fee will be waived for any calendar month in which their qualifying book sales reach at least USD $200 in royalties.

Option Three: Submit a Single Book (Or Series)

Authors who are not seeking an ongoing publishing relationship may submit one book for individual consideration.

Fables accepts up to ten single-book publishing projects per calendar year.

Single-book submissions may include:

  • New and unpublished manuscripts

  • Completed manuscripts

  • Previously self-published books

  • Books being revised or prepared for rerelease

Previously published books must be free from conflicting publishing, distribution, exclusivity, illustration, or licensing agreements.

Services and royalties will be confirmed through a book-specific publishing agreement.

Annual acceptance limit: Ten books
