Editing Terms & Conditions

By submitting this form, you confirm that:

The manuscript is my original work and has not been generated, written, or substantially rewritten using AI. Fables & Ink does not accept AI-generated manuscripts for editing. If AI-generated content is discovered after work has commenced, the project may be cancelled without refund.

I own the rights to submit this manuscript or have permission from the copyright holder to request editing services.

I understand my manuscript will be added to the editing queue. Editing is completed in the order manuscripts are received unless an agreed priority service has been purchased. The current queue can be viewed at any time on the Fables & Ink website.

I understand that turnaround times are estimates only. Larger projects, revisions, illness, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances may affect completion dates. If significant delays occur, I will be notified.

I understand that editing is a collaborative service. Suggestions and recommendations are provided to improve the manuscript, but all final publishing decisions remain my responsibility. I also acknowledge that professional human editors generally achieve an error catch rate between 80% and 95% and am not eligible for a refund if my manuscript is within this standard.

I understand that submitting my manuscript does not guarantee publication or commercial success. Editing improves clarity, consistency, and readability, but cannot guarantee reviews, sales, or publishing outcomes.

I understand Fables & Ink reserves the right to decline any manuscript that contains hateful, illegal, plagiarized, or AI-generated content.

I understand that payments are non-refundable. Refunds will only be issued if Fables & Ink is unable to complete my project due to unforeseen commitment or capacity issues. This does not apply if I have provided false or misleading information, breached these terms, or if my manuscript is found to violate Fables & Ink's policies, including the submission of AI-generated content.

I own the rights to this project or have permission from the copyright holder to commission ghostwriting or editing services.

I understand that Fables & Ink does not provide AI-generated writing. All ghostwriting and ghost-editing is completed by a human writer/editor.

I understand that ghostwriting and ghost-editing are collaborative services. Timely communication and feedback are required to keep the project progressing as scheduled.

I understand that work is completed in the order projects are booked unless an agreed rush service has been purchased.

I understand that the standard production rate is approximately 10,000 words every two (2) weeks. This is an average estimate and may vary depending on project complexity, revision requests, holidays, illness, or unforeseen circumstances.

I understand that revisions are limited to the agreed scope of work. Requests that significantly alter previously approved content or direction may incur additional charges.

I understand that payments are non-refundable. Refunds will only be issued if Fables & Ink is unable to complete the project due to its own commitment or capacity issues. Refunds will not be provided where false or misleading information has been supplied, these terms have been breached, or the project is cancelled by me after work has commenced.

Estimated Timeframes

Plot/Concept Creation: Usually completed within 1–2 weeks.
Ghostwriting: Approximately 10,000 words every 2 weeks.
Ghost-Editing: Approximately 15,000 words every 2 weeks.
Rush Service: Priority scheduling with a target turnaround of up to 75,000 words within 30 days (subject to project scope and availability).

I understand that all artwork and designs are created by a human artist. Fables & Ink does not use AI-generated artwork or AI-generated book covers.

I understand that the information and references I provide will be used as creative direction. While every effort will be made to match my vision, some artistic interpretation may be required.

I understand that turnaround times are estimates only and may vary depending on project complexity, revision requests, workload, illness, or unforeseen circumstances.

I understand that Fables & Ink maintains a strict no-AI policy. I agree that I will not upload, submit, or otherwise use any artwork, illustrations, book covers, formatting, branding, or other creative works produced by Fables & Ink with any generative AI platform, model, or training system without prior written permission from Fables & Ink. Doing so constitutes a material breach of this agreement. In the event of such a breach, my license to use the commissioned work is immediately revoked, and I agree to cease all use of the work, including removing it from books, websites, social media, advertising, promotional materials, and other public platforms within 48 hours of written notice from Fables & Ink.

Estimated Turnaround Times

Standard Book Cover: Approximately 7 days
Deluxe Book Cover: Approximately 14 days
Illustrated Book Covers: Approximately 45–60 days, depending on the number of characters, artwork complexity, and revisions.
Standard Formatting: Approximately 1 week
Illustrated Formatting: Up to 3 weeks, depending on the number of illustrations and chapter designs.

I understand that revisions are intended for adjustments to the agreed concept. Requests for a completely new concept or significant design changes after work has commenced may incur additional charges.

I understand that formatting services require a completed, final manuscript. Substantial manuscript changes after formatting has begun may require additional formatting fees.

I understand that payments are non-refundable. Refunds will only be issued if Fables & Ink is unable to complete my project due to its own commitment or capacity issues. Refunds will not be provided where false or misleading information has been supplied, these terms have been breached, or the project is cancelled by me after work has commenced.

I understand that all artwork is hand-drawn by a human artist. Fables & Ink does not use AI-generated artwork or AI-assisted illustration at any stage of the creative process.

I understand that the information, descriptions, and reference images I provide will be used as creative direction. While every effort will be made to accurately portray my vision, some artistic interpretation may be required.

I understand that artwork is created in the order commissions are accepted unless an agreed rush service has been purchased.

I understand that turnaround times are estimates only. Completion time depends on artwork complexity, the number of characters, revision requests, current workload, illness, holidays, and unforeseen circumstances.

Estimated Turnaround Times

Sketch Illustrations: Approximately 3–7 days
Line Art: Approximately 7–14 days
Fully Coloured Characters: Approximately 2–4 weeks
Illustrated Scenes: Approximately 3–6 weeks, depending on complexity and the number of characters.
Rush Service: Prioritises your commission where possible but does not guarantee a specific completion date.

I understand that revisions are intended for adjustments to the approved concept. Requests for significant redesigns, pose changes, outfit changes, or entirely new concepts after artwork has commenced may incur additional charges.

I understand that payments are non-refundable. Refunds will only be issued if Fables & Ink is unable to complete my commission due to its own commitment or capacity issues. Refunds will not be provided where false or misleading information has been supplied, these terms have been breached, or the commission is cancelled by me after work has commenced.

I understand that all artwork remains the intellectual property of Fables & Ink until full payment has been received. Upon payment, I receive the agreed license to use the commissioned artwork.

I understand that I am responsible for providing accurate descriptions and reference material. Changes due to omitted or incorrect information after artwork has commenced may incur additional fees.

I understand that Fables & Ink maintains a strict no-AI policy. I agree that I will not upload, submit, or use any commissioned artwork with any generative AI platform, model, image generator, or AI training system without prior written permission from Fables & Ink. Doing so constitutes a material breach of this agreement.
